To update PAR to the latest version (7.07.56)

Update Notes  - if updating from:

1. a previous major version (e.g. from 7.05.xx to 7.06.xx), backup your data before continuing because the data files will be modified by the update.
2. version 7.03.xx (or earlier) and you are not using the Par Winprint program, you may need to change your Par printer configuration file.  Please call for assistance.  You are using the Winprint program if Par/System Parameters/Printer Setup/Windows or Network Printer option is 'Y'.
3. version 7.05.09 (or earlier) and you print using Winprint version 1.03.07 (or earlier),  then you will need to re-install the Winprint program (see The Printing Page for details).  To determine the Winprint version, type: \par\winprint /v in the Windows Run Box (i.e. on the desktop, click Start then Run).
4. version 7.07.08 update includes new wcb fees.  To import these new fees, choose Update Fee Schedules from the Par Main Menu after installing this update. Select MSP option before BCMA.
    

To Update:

1. Download the new version, update.exe, by clicking the UPDATE link, below.
    
2. Save the update.exe file in your PAR directory (i.e. choose the 'Save' option and make sure the 'Save in:' Box contains 'par' - you may have to Browse to find the par folder - double click it to place 'par' in the Save In: box).
    
3. If you submit WCB E-forms (forms 8 or 11) and have not, in the past, downloaded the wcb.exe file, then click the WCB link, below. Save the  wcb.exe file in the PAR\DR directory (i.e. change the 'Save in' Box to dr).
    

4. To save your current par version, return to your desktop and click Start then Run:
   In the Run box type (substitute your drive and directory for C:\PAR if yours differs)
     C:\PAR\UTIL\PKZIP  C:\PAR\TEMP\PAR.ZIP  C:\PAR\PAR*.EXE <enter>
   Type 'A' for All if asked to overwrite existing file. 
   This will preserve your existing program. 
    

5. To install the new version, type in the Run Box:
     C:\PAR\UPDATE.EXE <enter>
    

6. When prompted to Overwrite existing files (Y/N)?, type 'A' for 'All' even though this choice is not offered.
    
7. From the Run Box again, type:
     C:\PAR\PARUPDAT.EXE <enter>
    
8. If you have downloaded the WCB.EXE file then, in the Run Box, type:
      C:\PAR\DR\WCB.EXE <enter>
   This will install the WCB support files. Say 'Y' if asked to overwrite existing file.
    
9. Confirm that PAR has been updated by reading the Version Number on the PAR Password Screen.
    

10. If using Winprint, set the Printer Setup 'Use Windows or Network Printer' to 'Y' in the System Parameters Menu. Exit Par and restart for printing option to take effect.

UPDATE        WCB
