Backup
To Backup Par Data To USB Flash Drive (Memory Stick):
1. Download new backup program by clicking the BACKUP link below.
2. Save the parback.bat file in your PAR directory (i.e. choose the 'Save' option and make sure the 'Save in:' Box contains 'par' - you may have to Browse to find the par folder - double click it to place 'par' in the Save In: box).
3. Create a desktop icon to the new parback.bat file by opening Windows Explorer (Start, Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer). If the right hand pane displays scattered icons, click the View Menu at the top of the screen, and choose Details to show the right-hand contents as a list.
4. Click on My Computer, Local C: drive, Par folder.
5. In the right hand window, find and right-click the parback.bat file (may be called parback) and left-click Send To and Desktop. This will create a shortcut icon on the desktop to the parback.bat program.
6. When you double click the shortcut icon, you will be prompted for the Drive Letter of the Flash Drive.
7. Enter the drive letter and press <enter>. A successful backup will be confirmed by a dos window showing file names, with the letters 'OK', after each. This confirms that the Par data was copied intact to a dr.zip file on the flash drive. If the 'OK's are not seen, the backup was unsuccessful.
